Veganuary 2018 Roundup

For those who follow me on Twitter and Instagram will have seen my recommendations during Veganuary but just in case you missed it, here is my roundup featuring only the tastiest vegan food in London :)

FalafeLicious

Tucked upstairs at Boxpark Shoreditch is a little falafel place with the most delicious salad bar. Simply choose your pitta bread (white or brown) and it will be filled with crunchy falafels as well as the usual salad base of onions, tomatoes, lettuce and tahini sauce. Then you can help yourself to as much salad as you like and I'm not just talking about cucumber and sweetcorn. From spicy, deep-fried cauliflower to babaganoush and couscous, you'll be very tempted to upgrade to a salad box.

Black Mylk

If you're looking for a coconut and cashew based ice cream, Black Mylk serve up some interesting flavours! From black sesame to spiced ginger crumble, this dessert is delicious and creamy. Choose from a range of contrasting toppings and sauces without an extra charge. Look out for Black Mylk at Vegan Nights and Hackney Downs Market.

Arancini Brothers

Made with risotto, these arancini balls are great in a burger or in a wrap and even on their own with a bit of dipping sauce! The photo below contained 20 arancini and they were all eaten within minutes.

Ben & Jerry's

Finally, the day has come where we can enjoy a vegan version of Ben & Jerry's ice cream! Located on Wardour Street, you'll find freshly made vegan waffle cones and a their three vegan flavours - including my favourite Peanut Butter and Cookies. If you don't fancy venturing to London, you can stock up your freezer with tubs from Waitrose and Tesco.

Crosstown Doughnuts

I was so excited when I found out they sold vegan donuts that weren't just sugar and cinnamon! Made using a combination of oat milk, tofu and chia seeds (depending on which flavour you choose), these doughnuts are priced at £3.80 each and can be found at all Crosstown locations on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Doughnut Time

Made from the softest dough I've ever eaten, these vegan doughnuts are priced between £4 – £4.50. The glaze can be a bit sweet but it is hard to resist the delicious combinations they come up with, including this chocolate glazed doughnut with cookie dough and sprinkles!

Naked Dough

If you are a fan of cookie dough and aren't avoiding soya, then Naked Dough is the place to go! They only have one vegan flavour - Cookie Monster but it makes a great little treat and can be kept in the fridge for 3 weeks.

Yorica

I know I've mentioned this place quite a few times on Instagram but this hot bubble wrap was delicious with cold salted caramel ice cream and sauce! Perfect any time of the year.

The Vurger Co.

If you're looking for a filling vegan burger, The Vurger Co. will sort you out. Made with a range of plant-based ingredients and topped with the softest and best brioche bun you'll ever eat - it's about time you tried it.

The Diner mylkshake

Made with oat milk and blended with chocolate coconut ripple ice cream, this mylkshake is delicious with crushed oreos. I have yet to try it with peanut butter but can only imagine it tastes like heaven! It costs £5.50 for the mylkshake with 50p per extra topping. They also have lots of vegan dishes on their menu so check out their website.

Hawker Street – Churros

I had been craving churros for ages and found this little stall in Soho. For only £2.80 you can enjoy these crispy, long churros that are dusted with cinnamon and sugar and are completely vegan.

Prime Gelato

My favourite place to go for ice cream as half of the flavours they serve are vegan! Click here for the full list of flavours

Veggie Pret

I had never had mac and cheese before until I started working near Old Street. At Veggie Pret they serve mac 'n' greens, perfect for warming you up on a cold day. Made with pasta, kale, cherry tomatoes and sprinkled with breadcrumbs for crispy texture, you can buy it at Veggie Pret for £5.50.
